While driving to Whole Foods, I was thinking about 2009. I was thinking that I've missed writing as a part of my life for a long time, but I haven't done anything about it. I keep thinking I will, I keep promising myself I'll write a short story or type out a poem or keep a journal beside my bed, but I don't do it.
In keeping with the theme I've chosen for 2009 - beginnings - I'm starting a blog that I can update as I grow and change throughout this year. For me, this year is going to be about realizing and refining the tasks I started in 2008 - growing comfortable in my own skin, obtaining a new job that I love, and getting used to living in the strip mall-laden land of Northern Virginia. It's also going to be about trying things I haven't before - and being successful. I've had blogs before, but I never really promised myself I'd update them, and they fell by the wayside.
So, I'm starting this project in earnest. I'm writing about the life I lead, the new things I try, and the world around me as I see it.
